# A timer in one line

Type a time. Press Enter. Or open a direct link and it starts.

- [5 minutes](https://eggtimer.app/5mins)
- [5 minutes](https://eggtimer.app/5m)

- [3 hours](https://eggtimer.app/3h)

## Give it a name

[Tea, in 3 minutes](https://eggtimer.app/Tea/for/3m). A label is just a name before /for/: /Tea/for/3m.

## Put two timers together

[Focus for 25 minutes, then break for 5](https://eggtimer.app/25m/5m). Put / between times to make a sequence.

## Count down to a time

[Until 9pm](https://eggtimer.app/9pm). Clock times use your local timezone and choose the next occurrence. 17:30 means 5:30pm. For a duration, use 17m30s.

## Independent tabs

Open more tabs for more timers. Each runs independently; reloading resumes only that tab’s timer. Choose New timer to clear the current tab. Preferences and saved recipes are shared across this browser.

## Make it yours

Open Appearance for colors and displays. Open Recipes for starting ideas. Open Build your own to change the steps or paste a recipe made with an LLM. Save it, copy its link, or export JSON. Every shared recipe can be remixed. No account is needed by the timer itself.

## Make something happen afterward

Open Connect Zapier, paste your Catch Hook URL, and enable the next completion. Your Zap can log a work session, create a task, or notify a channel. You choose the action in Zapier. Keep this tab open for delivery. Hook URLs stay out of shared links. Read the [setup guide](https://eggtimer.app/webhooks.md) for the exact steps.

## Two small things to know

Click Test alarm before you rely on an alarm: browsers need your interaction first. A sleeping device can delay sound and webhooks. A timer link gives each person their own countdown, not a synchronized room.
